We are pleased to announce that Applyo Jena will participate again at the world’s leading B2B fair in the medical sector, MEDICA Trade Fair. You are warmly welcome to visit us at our booth G74 in Hall 3. Please learn more about our exciting innovations in freeze-dried reagent-Beads for PCR and isothermal Amplification, high-quality solutions for diagnostics and our CDMO services. We look forward to meeting you at our booth and discussing how our solutions can benefit your diagnostic products. See you at Düsseldorf!
Applyo successfully carried out a capital increase. This paved the way for the decision to increase the production capacity to 400,000 beads per batch and to move into laboratories, which are specially designed for the production of Lyo beads. The new laboratories are scheduled for completion in mid-year 2024.
After the successful trade fair appearance at MEDICA, Applyo has invested further in its production technology and increased production capacity from small to medium batch sizes with the possibility to offer batches up to 40,000 beads.
Applyo is presenting itself to the general public for the first time with a stand at MEDICA in Duesseldorf. The positioning as “independent specialist for freeze drying” generated high customer interest. Also the Minister of Economic Affairs of Thuringia, Mr. Wolfgang Tiefensee, visited the Applyo stand. during his tour of the trade fair.
Applyo presented “Gefriergetrocknete Assays für die medizinische Diagnostik” (“use of freeze-dried reagents in medical diagnostics”) at the “Zukunftskonferenz Medizintechnik 2022” (“Future Conference on Medical-Diagnostics 2022”) in Erfurt during “Investor Days Thüringen 2022”.
The regional TV-station MDR reported on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Technology and Innovation Park Jena (TIP) about the innovative companies at the campus.
Eight months after the company was founded the first own product was born: RT-qPCR Applyo Beads which allow replacement of all standard ingredients required for PCR tests.
Derivatives of this first product will follow.
Applyo Jena GmbH was registered in the commercial register (Handelsregister). At the same time Applyo moved into its first laboratory in the Technology and Innovation Park Jena (TIP). Despite the COVID-19 pandemic Applyo was up and running within the next three months.

IVD: In-Vitro-Diagnostics
IVDR: In-Vitro-Diagnostics Regulation
LAMP: Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (isothermal Amplification)
LES: Laboratory Execution System
LIMS: Laboratory information Management System
NEAR: Nicking Enzyme Amplification Reaction (isothermal Amplification):
PoC: Point-of-Care
PoN: Point-of-Need
RCA: Rolling Circle Amplification requires a circular DNA-template.
RMDx / MDx: (Rapid) Molecular Diagnostics comprises cyclic PCR and also isothermal amplification technologies
RPA: Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (isothermal Amplification)
RT-qPCR: Reverse-Transcriptase quantitative PCR, sample material is RNA
