The regional TV-station MDR reports on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Technology and Innovation Park Jena (TIP) about the innovative companies in the building and puts Applyo Jena first in its reportage.
Applyo sets the appointment for the ISO 13485 certification with the Benannte Stelle for November 2022 and hires a dedicated person for quality management with long-term experience in lyophilization of reagents. Our commitment is to run production according to ISO 13485 from the start of the first customer series production.
Eight months after the company was founded the first own product is born: a RT-qPCR Applyo Bead which allows to replace all the standard ingredients for a PCR test.
Derivatives of this first product will follow.
Applyo signs a pre-lease agreement for a whole floor in a laboratory building that will be newly built and completed in 2023. This offers Applyo the opportunity to design an optimal lay-out and adapted installation for the production of high volumes of Applyo Beads.
Applyo Jena GmbH is entered in the commercial register. With the registration Applyo moves into its first laboratory in the Technology and Innovation Park Jena (TIP). Despite the Covid-19 pandemic Applyo manages to be up and running within the next three months.
dsDNA and ssDNA: double- or single-stranded Deoxyribonucleic Acid
FD: Freeze-Drying = Lyophilization or Lyophilisation
Isothermal Amplification: amplification of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) at a constant temperature, e. g. LAMP, NEAR, NASBA, TMA, RCA, RPA, HDA etc; Beneficial for low settings at PoC and PoN solutions
IVD: In-Vitro-Diagnostics
IVDR: In-Vitro-Diagnostics Regulation
LAMP:
LES: Laboratory Execution System – electronic SOP… Schulungsdatenbank…
LIMS: Laboratory information Management System
NEAR:
PoC: Point-of-Care
PoN: Point-of-Need
RCA: Rolling Circle Amplification requires a padlock probe. A Padlock probe is a linear, single-stranded ssDNA which will be “circulized“ via ligation when target is bound
RMDx / MDx: (Rapid) Molecular Diagnostics comprises cyclic RT-qPCR and also isothermal amplification technologies
RPA: isothermal Amplification
RT-qPCR: Reverse -quantitative PCR, sample material is RNA
